60 Years of English & Creative Writing at Strathclyde, 5/6/24, 6pm @ Strathclyde Union

Thrilled to be returning to the University of Strathclyde for the first time in a decade (!) for this event celebrating 60 years of English and Creative Writing at Strathy.

I’ll be appearing alongside fellow Strathy alumni and recently published writers Margaret McDonald (Glasgow Boys) and Megan Ridgway (The Magpie) to talk about our work and our years as creative writing students at Strathclyde.

The chat will be chaired by the excellent author and memoirist Dr Rodge Glass, Convener of the MLitt in Creative Writing, and looks set to be a brilliant evening.

Held at the student union, the event is free but ticketed.

You can book here.

I studied English with Journalism & Creative Writing at Strathclyde Uni from 2009 – 2013 (if I remember correctly) under some wonderful writers, including Louise Welsh, Doug Johnstone, David Kinloch, and Rodge himself.

It’s the first time I’ve been back since graduating and I’m looking forward to speaking to some current students about the long, rocky road to publication (in an inspiring and positive way, hopefully).
