It’s Independent Bookshop Week! The annual celebration of the country’s best indies is now in it’s 20th year, with events up and down the country as well as a National Book Token giveaway and the Indie Book Awards.

For my part, I’m off to The Book Nook in Stewarton on Saturday to talk all things RAT RACE with one of my fave crime authors, Martin Stewart.

The Book Nook is an incredible shop owned by Sarah Skelton which serves it’s local community by bringing authors from far and wide, hosting book clubs and running a ‘book bank‘. It’s a special place and I’m really happy to be going there.

I’d also like to shoutout my other favourite indie book shops from around (roughly) my bit: Daydreams Bookshop, Mount Florida Books, The Bookmonger and Bigglestones Books. Passionate booksellers one and all, this week is a great excuse to give them a visit.
