I’ve been sitting on this news for a good while now and I’m finally allowed to yell about it! (And I shall be doing so a lot.)
My short story Secret Ingredients will be in Shoreline of Infinity Issue 15! Released to coincide with Cymera Festival this weekend (7th – 9th June), it’s now available to pre-order.
I’ve been a huge fan of Shoreline since I first started reading it a couple of years ago, so it is a pleasure and privilege to finally see a story of mine in its pages. (Big thanks to Noel Chidwick, Russell Jones, Andrew J. Wilson and the rest of the Shoreline team!)
Also, the line-up for Issue 15 is absolutely killer, couldn’t hope to be in better company. There are stories from Tim Major and E.M. Faulds, an excerpt from Gareth L. Powell’s (!!) new nonfiction book about writing, and an interview with Louise Welsh. When I started studying at Strathclyde Uni in 2009, I was a student in Professor Welsh’s first year creative writing class, so to feature in the same magazine as her nearly ten years later is something special.
Secret Ingredients is a story of corporate espionage among high-class restaurants on a distant planet. Think Monsters, Inc. meets Kitchen Confidential. (With wonderful artwork by Jessica Good.) Interested? You can pre-order at a discounted price here.

In addition to Secret Ingredients, Shoreline 15 also includes my full review of the excellent first issue of Blood Bath Literary Zine.
Shoreline of Infinity is a British Fantasy Society Award-winning sci-fi magazine based in Edinburgh.
